Young Kuwaiti musicians shine at Gulf Musician Idol Competition – ARAB TIMES
KUWAIT CITY, December 5: Kuwait Music Academy students and teachers capped the difficult 2021 with great success. KMA participants won twelve first prizes and five second prizes at the Gulf Musician Idol Competition held in Bahrain in November. The Bahrain Harmony Music Center led by Ms. Director Olha Kochura announced the Gulf Musician Idol competition in November 2021. Competitions were held in various instrumental and vocal categories as well as in different age groups, from beginners to senior for adults. An international jury of experienced musicians judged hundreds of performances recorded live by young talents from the Gulf region.
The Kuwait Academy of Music was represented on the jury by its director, renowned pianist Karol Masternak and talented multi-instrumentalist Victor Shramko. The jury took up the difficult challenge of judging young talents because of the very high quality of their performances. The most promising participants qualified for the final round. The results were released on Saturday, November 27. It was very good news for the participants from Kuwait as well as a moment of pride for their teachers, their families and their school – the Kuwait Academy of Music.

Some of the students who won awards at the Bahrain Musician Idol Competition and earlier at the Int’l Gulf Chopin Competition, held in March-April 2021, have been recommended by several international universities and institutes, also in the United States. and in Europe.
